Ziua urm\u0103toare, prin Sudbury spre Saulte St Marie. \u00centoarcerea duminic\u0103 &#8211; de data aceasta drept spre Ottawa, pe autostrada 17.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Aceasta este o postare despre noua mea motociclet\u0103 Kawasaki Vulcan S 650cc. O iau ni\u021belu\u0219 pe ocolite (dac\u0103 dori\u021bi, s\u0103ri\u021bi direct la <a href=\"http:\/\/www.2link.ca\/newblog\/2017\/04\/11\/evaluare-kawasaki-vulcan-s\/\">review-ul Vulcan S<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Anul trecut, pe 24 iunie, am \u00eencercat s\u0103 folosesc un weekend lung ca s\u0103 fac un alt traseu de distan\u021b\u0103 pe motociclet\u0103: Ottawa -\u00bb North Bay (via Algonquin Park) -\u00bbSault Sainte-Marie \u0219i retur, un traseu ce dep\u0103\u0219e\u0219te 1600 km. Am pornit la drum \u00eentr-o diminea\u021b\u0103 superb\u0103 de vineri. \u00a0Soarele str\u0103lucea \u0219i cerul era f\u0103r\u0103 un strop de nor. Cum primul stop al drumului meu, North Bay nu era prea departe (cca 450 km),\u00a0 eram decis s\u0103 nu gonesc, s\u0103 m\u0103 bucur de peisajele superbe ale drumului, s\u0103 opresc \u00een diverse locuri pitore\u0219ti din Algonquin Park (un parc imens, de peste peste 7600 km p\u0103tra\u021bi).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Din nefericire, la pu\u021bin peste 100 km de Ottawa, dup\u0103 localitatea Arnprior dar \u00eenainte de a ajunge la Renfrew (acolo unde drumul &#8211; vede\u021bi poza &#8211; c\u00e2rme\u0219te spre st\u00e2nga), am \u00eent\u00e2lnit o coloan\u0103 de ma\u0219ini care venea din sens opus. Cineva, cap de coloan\u0103, insista s\u0103 mearg\u0103 cu 75-80kmp pe un drum cu limita de vitez\u0103 de 90 kmph. Din aceast\u0103 coloan\u0103 s-a desprins un Dodge Ram 1500, un \u201etruck\u201d, care a \u00eenceput s\u0103 \u0219arjeze spre mine. Am tot redus viteza, a\u0219tept\u00e2nd o ac\u021biune salvatoare dar c\u00e2nd a ajuns la cca 30 m de mine, f\u0103r\u0103 m\u0103car s\u0103 \u00eencetineasc\u0103, am ie\u0219it cu cca 50 kmph \u00een pietri\u0219ul de pe margine. Este clar c\u0103 m-am dus cu ro\u021bile \u00een sus. Am supravie\u021buit dar motorul meu a fost f\u0103cut praf.<\/p>\n<p>Boul de \u0219ofer al camionului s-a jurat c\u0103 nu m-a v\u0103zut \u2013 e posibil (vedem doar ce dorim s\u0103 vedem) &#8211; \u0219i apoi a fugit (dar i s-a f\u0103cut fric\u0103 \u0219i a sunat la poli\u021bie). Am condus Honda \u00eenapoi \u00een Ottawa dar am decis s-o trec la pierderi totale. A fost un lucru bun \u2013 mi-au pl\u0103tit peste 6500$ (pentru upgrade-urile pe care le aveam) pe o motociclet\u0103 care s-ar fi putut vinde cu, poate 3700$. Dar am pierdut amintiri&#8230; 30,000 km de amintiri.<\/p>\n<p>Deci, pentru evaluarea noii mele motociclete, Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 CC, trebuie s\u0103 \u021bine\u021bi \u00een minte c\u0103 o compar cu fosta mea Honda Shadow Spirit, VT750C2 (C2 este modelul cu ax cardanic). Anul de produc\u021bie era 2007, \u0219i eu o cump\u0103rasem \u00een 2009 de la un domn \u00een v\u00e2rst\u0103 care, dup\u0103 doar 1 an de posesie \u0219i 6000 km, o \u00eenlocuia cu un Harley. \u00a0Fusese ultimul model de Shadow cu carburator. Nu mai trecea de 140 kmph iar dup\u0103 110 sugea benzin\u0103 ca un camion \u2013 6.5-7.5 L\/100 km (comparat cu 4.7L\/100 km consuma\u021bi la 90-100 kmph). Era frumoas\u0103 \u0219i mi se potrivea \u00een tendin\u021bele ei neoclasice \u2013 o form\u0103 clasic\u0103 reinterpretat\u0103. Era \u00eenceputul circuitului de 3600 km din 2015.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Honda Shadow are centrul de greutate aproape de sol \u2013 dac\u0103 \u0219tii s\u0103 controlezi ambreiajul, po\u021bi merge chiar \u0219i cu 2-3 kmph f\u0103r\u0103 s\u0103 pui piciorul jos.\u00a0 Nu avea mai nimic din seria \u201ebells and whistles\u201d: nu ABS, f\u0103r\u0103 tahometru (indicator de tura\u021bie, rpm), f\u0103r\u0103 indicator de benzin\u0103 (dup\u0103 12 L se zg\u00e2l\u021b\u00e2ia, se \u00eeneca \u0219i \u0103sta era semnul s\u0103 treci pe \u201erezerv\u0103). Este \u00eens\u0103 o motociclet\u0103 bun\u0103 pentru \u00eencep\u0103tori, ieftin\u0103, stabil\u0103, cu asigurare ieftin\u0103, cu suficient\u0103 putere. A mea avea \u0219i o \u0219a confortabil\u0103 \u2013 Mustang &#8211; \u0219i sp\u0103tar\/portbagaj pentru pasager. Avea de asemeni \u0219i filtru de aer K&amp;N, carburatorul \u0219i aprinderea fuseser\u0103 modificate \u0219i, de\u0219i le zg\u00e2riasem \u00een prima zi dup\u0103 ce le instalasem, o dotasem \u0219i cu ni\u0219te \u021bevi de e\u0219apament Vance &amp; Hines. Am avut noroc c\u0103 persoana de la compania de asigur\u0103ri INTACT era \u0219i ea motociclist\u0103 \u0219i mi-a aprobat decontarea accesoriilor suplimentare. Hotelurile erau deja pl\u0103tite a\u0219a c\u0103, de\u0219i eram pu\u021bin paradit, am decis s\u0103 \u00eencerc \u00eenc\u0103 o dat\u0103. Din fericire, motocicleta\u00a0func\u021biona \u00eenc\u0103. E un alt lucru &#8211; de\u0219i a fost tr\u00e2ntit\u0103 de c\u00e2teva ori, de\u0219i accelera\u021bia nu se mai \u00eenchidea singur\u0103 \u0219i pedala de fr\u00e2n\u0103 era puternic str\u00e2mbat\u0103, motorul \u00een sine era f\u0103r\u0103 moarte: pornea \u00eentotdeauna, f\u0103r\u0103 gre\u0219. Am dat declara\u021bia la Poli\u021bie \u00een Arnprior \u0219i am revenit \u00een Ottawa. Aici, mi-am schimbat hainele \u0219i am aruncat bagajul \u00een ma\u0219in\u0103. Weekendul n-a mai fost at\u00e2t de pl\u0103cut cum mi-l imaginasem dar, probabil, mai pl\u0103cut dec\u00e2t s\u0103 fi r\u0103mas acas\u0103, pe canapea, jelindu-m\u0103 de coastele mele \u00eenvine\u021bite.<\/p>\n<p>Chiar dup\u0103 ce am pierdut Honda, am \u00eenceput s\u0103 visez la urm\u0103toarea motociclet\u0103. Pentru c\u0103 \u00een 2011 mi s-a \u00eent\u00e2mplat s\u0103 m\u0103 duc la sol c\u00e2nd am blocat cu fr\u00e2na roata din spate \u0219i, \u00een ultimul incident, mi-am dorit s\u0103 fi fost capabil s\u0103 fr\u00e2nez mai brutal, am decis c\u0103 <strong>\u00eemi<\/strong> <strong>trebuie ABS<\/strong>. \u0218tiu toate comentariile anti-ABS la motociclet\u0103. Ignora\u021bi-le! Dac\u0103 la ma\u0219in\u0103 e adev\u0103rat c\u0103 va opri dup\u0103 distan\u021ba unei ma\u0219ini non-ABS, la moto e o idee fix\u0103 dar fals\u0103.
